The farewell dinner was at the Don Quijote restaurant. It was a very nice setting. We were outside in a garden and we had three extremely long tables. It was a three course meal. The first course I had tortillini with ham. Second course was not as good...fried chicken with potatoes. Third meal was this yummy dessert that I can not remember the name but natti maybe. Idk. It was very good. Then we had a drink to finish it off. The program director Carlos gave a toast that was very touching and also one of the students gave a toast to the teachers. It was a perfect end to this amazing program.
Also beforehand we gave Andy, our teacher, a t-shirt and card because he likes to wear these goofy cartoon t-shirts. It was so cute because he started getting all choked up, which made me all sad. I think the teachers really appreciate those kinds of gifts because here we get really close with them because we see them outside the classroom. They are more like our friends by the end of the program.
After the dinner everyone went out and we convinced the teachers to come to the infamous bars that we always talked about. It was fun and hilarious to see them there with us. After the bars I split off from the group because they were going to a bunch of clubs that I didn't really enjoy. I went to a new place. El Savor. It was a salsa club and I wish I knew about it sooner! It was a blast and I really enjoyed myself. I called it an early night and was asleep by 4.
Today, Friday, I presented my project on family life in Spain with Rachel. Then we went out for one last Tapas run with Carla. We also received our Diplomas and grades for our Cursos Internacionales. I got an A+ in culture and an A in my art history class!!!! I am so pumped this will for sure be an awesome GPA buster.
The rest of today I have just been wandering around, packing, and saying bye to people. It makes me sad to see everyone go. I can't believe I am leaving Salamanca. This is like my second home. I don't want to go but I am excited to go back. I have so many mixed emotions. It is a little overwhelming. I just thank God that I got this amazing opportunity. This has been a life changing experience. I will reflect more on my trip when I get home and have more time but now I have to go have my last dinner with my seƱora and then I will be off to Rome tomorrow!!
Hasta Luego :)
