Flamenco

Hola! Yesterday after lunch and my siesta. I went to the plaza and got some café con leche con hielo, which is iced coffee with milk, with Rachel and Natalie. After about an hour we headed to the plaza to meet our class. Our class went to a demonstration that was taking place at a nursing home about bull fighting. When we got there Rachel and I noticed immetiatly how attractive our bull fighter was. During the presentation he showed various techniques and methods used during the fight. After we could ask questions. There was this old man that kept asking questions and he reminded me a lot of my Papa. A lot of the girls were viying to get a picture with him after. We ventured back to the plaza in order to meet to buy tickets for Pamplona. We didn’t end up getting tickets because we wanted to wait until we had a printer to print them off. I had dinner with my family then headed out to the plaza to just chill for the evening. A lot of us just got a table at a café in the plaza and had some dessert. After Katherine and I wandered around Salamanca and just talked. I like Katherine a lot!

We have so much in common and she is really easy to talk to. I hope that we can get to know each other more over these weeks. When I got home I facetimed my family again in order to say congrats to my Nana and Papa on their 50th wedding anniversary.

This morning I got up and rushed to the school so I could buy tickets to Pamplona. Unfortunately we were too late and all of the bus spots were taken and other people decided to go by train but it was way to pricey for me and sounded really stressful. I am bummed but us who are not doing the train decided we will do something just as fun that weekend…like see a sporting event in Madrid or something like that. Bummer that I can’t go but oh well…si los dios quiere. Anyway in class today we talked about different types of flamenco in Spain. We watched videos of the different types…then…WE GOT TO GO DANCE! Yay! It was so much fun. We went to a dance studio and had a professional teacher show us three different types of dance. It was really a good time. We first danced with a partner then the second one we danced solo or alone. The third we were in a circle. The last one was my favorite because we got to move our hips a lot and I love doing that plus it was a little sassy (and who doesn’t enjoy dancing with a little sass) It was a ton of fun and we all decided we are going to do the dance tonight when we go out.

The instructor also did a dance for us at the end. She was beautiful and you could tell she loved what she was doing. Later today I am planning on napping then hitting up the pool then napping again then spending the night like a true Spaniard. Hasta Luego. xoxo
